We woke up on morning to a severe wind storm. I called the neighbor to see if she was still sending her kids to school. I figured if the carpool lady was still sending hers I would send mine. I opened the door to say goodbye to the boys and noticed my trash can tipped over in the road. I yelled at Ethan to grab it and bring it in to the house. Seconds later I saw it out the window, still in the street. I opened the door to yell at him and the neighbors large pine tree was in the middle of the street.
I sent the boys anyway (which I later went and got). Logan's bus called and said their doors got blown in and their was more damage to the bus and they would be very late. I told her to forget about picking up Logan, he would get blown away, so I would keep him home. I didn't send the girls either- the storm just kept getting worse. We did drive around and take pictures of the damage in the neighborhood. Our house didn't sustain any damage-that is until Shad came home early from work to set up the trailer because our power was out. He ripped apart our fence so that we could "camp" in the backyard with the generator. Some people had their power out for four days. These pictures are just from our neighborhood (3 blocks). Shingles gone, fences down, big pines seemed to take it the worst. We were very blest- our power was out for less than 24hrs., and our home was fine.
